Ceravision shortlisted as a finalist for the Lighting Design Awards 2011

Bletchley Park, England: Ceravision Ltd has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Lighting Design Awards 2011, the most prestigious architectural lighting competition in the world.

With the highest number of entries in the history of the awards, Ceravision’s Alvara® 400 Plasma Lamp has been selected as one of the top 5 in the Light Sources and Control category. With final judging due on the 10th March Mark Ridler of BDP, an award judge commented that the Alvara® is “a truly unique lamp source, flexible and energy efficient with excellent photometric performance.”

Ceravision’s CEO, Tim Reynolds said “to be acknowledged in this way by the lighting industry is both an honour and a tremendous endorsement of our technology. I am delighted that this recognition, together with the recent invitation to present two landmark papers at the LS12 conference, confirms the view that the Alvara® will soon become the light source of choice in many applications. With the system now in commercial production and being adopted by major end-users these are very exciting times for Ceravision, and for UK manufacturing.”

The Alvara® 400 is a complete high bay solution for use in many different environments including warehouses and distribution centres. Users typically benefit from a reduction in energy bills and carbon emissions of 50% to 70%. With each lamp having full energy saving dimming together with independent and intelligent lighting controls users can light their facilities, or any specific areas within them, to the perfect level at any time.
